New Holland plans to have four demonstration CR9090 Elevation combines in the UK this harvest, cutting wheat and substantiating the firm’s claim that it’s the highest capacity machine currently on the market. Touted as New Holland’s response to the Claas Lexion 600 model, the CR9090 Elevation is reckoned to be capable of a 10% greater output than New Holland’s previous flag, the CR9080 Elevation, with this performance uplift coming from a number of factors: 10.7m (35ft) wide Varifeed header, adjustable vanes for the twin rotors, 6.5m² cleaning area under wind control, 12,500-litre grain tank and 435kW/591hp max power Iveco Cursor 13 TCD engine with turbo compound technology. For harvest 2009, New Holland expects to sell 100 CR9090s in Europe, of which 30 should come to the UK. Of those 30 UK machines, around 25 will have 10.7m wide headers – the remainder will work with 9.1m units – and 15 will be sold with the optional Tidue suspended track system. Price of a fully specced CR9090 Elevation, complete with 10.7m header, is £346,000. Tracks add a further £40,000.
